Markup is measured against your cost. Margin is measured against your selling price. A $4 cost sold for $6 is a 50% markup but a 33% margin. Margin is the number that tells you what you actually keep.
How to use it
Enter your cost per unit and your selling price per unit. Both fields are required. Add the number of units sold if you want a total-profit figure alongside the per-unit numbers.
To work backward from a target markup or price instead, use the Markup Calculator.
